Robert D. Adamson
Director and Executive Chef
Growing up in New Richmond, Ohio, Robert was raised on a small farm and was involved in 4-H, church, and athletics. Having close family ties, Robert learned many life lessons such as hard work and serving as well as strong morals and values.
Robert has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years, at Executive Chef levels as well as Owner of Robert Adamson Catering, which later grew into the expansion of Primizia Market and Bakery.
After declining a running scholarship, Robert chose to attend Culinary School at Cincinnati State and was fortunate to have studied under John Kinsella, one of twelve Master Chefs in the United States. Upon graduation, Robert received a Chef position at The Precinct where he spent five years before having an opportunity to open The Waterfront—a new Jeff Ruby restaurant. A few years later, Robert was accepted as Executive Chef with Jeff Thomas Catering (named by Cincinnati Magazine as Best Caterer in Cincinnati during his two-year tenure). Thereafter, Robert became a Private Chef with the David Herriman Family, which then launched Robert Adamson Catering. This catering company grew over the next seven years into the expansion of Primizia Market and Bakery in Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
Most recently, Robert was Executive Chef at Amelia’s Bistro in Bellbrook but in 2010, Robert felt a much greater calling. Through a message series at SouthBrook Christian Church, Robert’s heart and mind were opened to see how God could use his gifts and talents to do good in the community. In this PLAY series, Robert learned how his Personality, Learnings, Abilities and Yearnings could be used by God for His purposes. Robert chose to take a step of faith and put his own life in PLAY by bringing a community café concept to the city of Miamisburg. Robert’s vision comes from God giving him the heart to reach out to people in need and the talent to provide healthy, affordable meals. God led Robert to serve the Miamisburg area and opened doors in a community where one in three children go to bed hungry every night. In 2010, Robert also joined the Board of Directors of the One World Everyone Eats Foundation—a national foundation that promotes and assists in growing the community café concept throughout the country.
With a passion for reaching out and helping people in need, Robert feels blessed to have this opportunity at one bistro to serve those within our community. To contact Chef Robert, email chefrobert@onebistro.org.
