one bistro is nothing without our volunteers who give of their time and talents—the heart behind our mission.
We continually pray for volunteers to help us make good happen in the community by being the hands and feet of Jesus. Our volunteers fall into two categories:
- Those who volunteer in order to provide a meal for themselves and/or their families.
- Those who volunteer to help as staff and assist in providing meals to those in need.
one bistro benefits from the time, talent and special skills that our volunteers have to offer. We encourage volunteers to sign up in advance for two to three hour blocks of time from Tuesday through Saturday. If unable to sign up, volunteers are welcome to stop by during business hours to see if help is needed on that particular day.
Volunteers should be 16 years of age, although families who wish to serve together may have younger children help out with adult supervision. To volunteer, sign up below as a Daily Volunteer or Community Meal Volunteer. Prior to volunteering, we ask that you please review the following volunteer policies, sign the appropriate forms, and bring the signed forms with you when you volunteer for the first time:

Daily Volunteers
Please sign up online for one of the following Daily Volunteer positions between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at your availability. While we do our best to keep volunteers in their requested position, there may be instances when we ask volunteers to help out in other areas as the need arises.
Busser / Dishwasher
Bus and sanitize tables. Take dishes to sink. Wash and dry dishes. Restock line.
Front of House / Cleaning
Wrap silverware. Clean, organize and stock beverage station. Sweep and mop floors. Clean bathroom. Trash removal. Wash windows.
Hostess
Welcome and seat guests. Provide menus. Explain our “pay what you can” concept.
Server
Take beverage and entree orders. Fill out guest check and take to kitchen. Serve beverage and entree orders. Check for beverage refills.
Other Projects
Gardening. Landscaping. Maintenance. Sweep sidewalks or alley. Pick up exterior trash.
Community Meal Volunteers
In addition to Daily Volunteers, we also need volunteers to help at our Community Meals on Wednesday evenings. To volunteer at our Community Meals, please sign up online between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at your availability.
