Volunteer
One Bistro volunteers are the heart behind our mission! While we pray for volunteers to bless our community by being the hands and feet of Jesus, all are welcome regardless of faith. Volunteers fall into two categories:
- Those who volunteer in order to provide a meal for themselves and/or their families.
- Those who volunteer to help as staff and assist in providing meals to those in need.
Volunteers must be age 15 and older to volunteer during regular cafe hours. Anyone under the age of 15 must be preapproved by the Manager prior to signing up and may be required to serve 1:1 with a parent or guardian. Please call 937.736.2358.
Children ages 6-10 may serve at a Community Meal but not during regular café hours, for safety reasons. Children ages 6-10 years old, will be required to serve 1:1 with a parent or guardian. Please call 937.736.2358.
Children under 6 years of age are not permitted to volunteer inside the cafe during regular cafe hours or Community Meal hours.
All volunteer tasks, training and arrangements are at the Manager’s discretion.
Prior to volunteering, please read and sign the following policies. Forms may be submitted when volunteering for the first time.
While we encourage volunteers to sign up online in advance, anyone may stop in during café hours to see if help is needed. Groups are also welcome to serve together. Email us at info@onebistro.org and we’ll find the perfect opportunity for your group!
Volunteer Hours
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Wednesday through Friday (at your availability)
4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Wednesday (at your availability)
7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Saturday (at your availability)
